How on earth will the new Will & Grace season handle the season 8 finale? Does the new Will & Grace start where the show left off?

Does The New Will & Grace Start Where The Show Left Off? Season 9 Premiere:

As Will & Grace fans eagerly await the Season 9 premiere on NBC September 28th, there are still a lot of unanswered questions, like: Does the new Will & Grace start where the show left off?

According to Entertainment Weekly, the new episodes of Will and Grace will pretend the finale never happened! Seriously, like the last 11 years...

Season 9 starts with Will (Eric McCormack) and Grace (Debra Messing) single and childless. The pair will still be living in their New York City apartment (quite differen't from the sitcom’s 2006 finale.)

In case you need a refresher, in the Season 8 finale, Grace had a daughter named Laila with her husband Leo (Harry Connick Jr.). Will was also raising his son Ben, with his partner/spouse Vincent also in a very different place!

Max Mutchnick, a creator and executive producer on the show said:

“We spent most of our time trying to figure out what would be the way to make the show the best version of itself coming back after 11 years, that finale really caused us a lot of grief. You write a finale because a show is over. You never think that it’s coming back again.”

David Kohan, another Will & Grace creator and executive producer added:

“When the decision was made to bring the series back, we were like, well, we left them with kids, right? And if they have children, then it has to be about them being parents, ‘cause presumably it would be a priority in their lives. And if it wasn’t a priority in their lives, then they’re still parents, they’re just bad parents, right? We frankly did not want to see them being either good parents or bad parents. We wanted them to be Will and Grace.”

AND, don't worry Jack (Sean Hayes) and Karen (Megan Mullally) will be back too! Jack will be teaching "Jackting" his own form of the acting craft and Karen will still be getting too many drinks as per usual.

"I think 11 more years of life has done a fantastic job,” said Mutchnick.
