Get ready for some feels!
So Canada saw us Americans crying across the school cafeteria, you know.... cause shits been crazy, and so they launched the “Let’s Tell America It’s Great” campaign to try and cheer us up, because even though we were like never BFF's, - - all that Trump stuff sucks and, "Don’t worry America, you got Beyonce, National Parks… and we think you're awesome."
The Garden Collective, a creative agency in Toronto, launched the website tellamericaitsgreat.com as a way to try to cheer up the United States during a particularly tough election cycle. Their social media campaign slogan “Let’s Tell America It’s Great”, isn't just a diss on Donald Trump’s slogan "Let's Make America Great," they also just really want us to know that they think we're already awesome and tell us all the reasons why! To watch and read the love visit the “Let’s Tell America It’s Great” website or visit their twitter @staygr8america #TellAmericaItsGreat
So far the video and twitter testimonials from Canadian citizens are perfume laced, American love letters and SWOON, I could just kiss some of our Canadian neighbors.
In the campaign’s main video, which was filmed on webcams and smartphones, one guy in the video’s opening says, “Hey guys, we’re just up here in Canada, talking about how great you guys are down there, and we thought we’d just send you a little bit of a love note.”
In a blog post titled “A Friend in Need,” the agency explained why it launched the campaign: “It’s no secret that America is going through a hard time right now. The election has exposed some pretty scary realities that will likely challenge them for years to come, regardless of who’s elected. They’ve been bombarded with a tremendous amount of negativity and it’s likely that for many of them, the immediate future seems rather bleak… As their closest friends and neighbors, we thought it was important for us to do something to cut through the negativity and help remind them that no matter how bad things might seem, there are a lot of reasons to believe that America is still pretty great.”
Aw, thanks Canada! Well our fried would be nowhere without your maple!!!
In Conclusion: Thanks for the love Canada! We think you guys are pretty awesome too and can we just say.... you probably have the hottest Prime Minister in the history of Prime Ministers.
