17+ Photos Of Iran’s Street Fashion That Will Destroy Your Stereotypes

Some myth-busts on World Hijab Day!
Today, February 1st, is World Hijab Day.
It was first celebrated in 2013 in order to educate the world on what wearing a hijab stands for. More importantly, this day is celebrated in the aim of protecting the right of an individual to wear one, neither forcing them nor banning them.
There's been a lot of controversy regarding hijab law in Iran. The media there and all over the world is also guilty of portraying Iranian women as sad and powerless. While this might be true for some, there are surely a lot of empowered, strong AND fashionably proud Hijab wearing females, so this stereotype is definitely not the most accurate description of a modern Iranian woman.
In an effort to deny the stereotype that women wearing a hijab are weak and unhappy, BoredPanda collected a list of Iranian women street style photos, depicting them wearing hijabs proudly and simply looking incredible.
Most of them come from a blog called The Tehran Times, the first street style blog from Tehran, aimed at showing the creativity and style of young Iranian women.
We salute you in your efforts to creatively educate others and empower women by showing examples of strong females who rock their hijab's, making their fashion their own.
