There are some things you should never feel bad about.

Being confident isn't easy— though those who have it make it look like the most natural thing in the world. They're comfortable, assertive, and, most importantly, they don't apologize for anything that they shouldn't.

1. Getting What They Want

If you work hard it, what's the problem?

2. Making Time For Themselves

So many of us feel bad about it, but we really really shouldn't.

3. Demanding Their Worth

Whether it's asking for a raise or negotiating in day-to-day life, they don't need to back down. And for women especially, more of us need to be like that.

4. Saying "No"

If you're like me, the idea of saying 'no' to anyone makes you feel about one inch tall. But you end up doing a whole lot of things you don't like— or just aren't good for you— that way. It's totally fine to turn something down that isn't feasible... or just because you don't want to.

5. Being Intelligent And In Charge

In the immortal words of Beyonce: You're not bossy, you're the boss.

6. Wearing What Makes Them Feel Good

Too exposing? Too casual? Too prudish? Who gives AF. You do you.

7. Communicating

Communicating more could do us all a lot of good. And confident people aren't scared to take up the air time.

8. Not Being Patronized

If you're shy, you often feel awkward or apologize for correcting someone— even when they're being a total sh*t. There's absolutely no need for it.

9. Canceling When They Need To

I have dragged myself halfway across the city to meet someone for 30 minutes even though there was no conceivable way it was going to be worth it. Sometimes it's OK to bow out.

10. Ordering What They Want

Don't want an appetizer? Want desert all to yourself? I hate feeling like I need to mimic what everyone at the table as doing. You don't have to.

11. And Paying For Just That

I'm a vegan who doesn't drink— I usually end up paying about six times what my meal costs when we split the bill. I really should speak up.

12. Their Priorities

Maybe it's work or play or their relationship— it doesn't matter. The point is, confident people prioritize what means the most to them and they don't apologize for it.

13. Being Happy

Ultimately, a lot of people will try to tear you down. But you don't need to apologize for being happy.

A lot of us struggle with confidence— and it's nothing to be ashamed of. But remembering what confident women do and what works for them is a great way to grown your own confidence.
