1. That You've Got Everything Figured Out
Let's face it. We all subscribe to the idea that we've got everything figured out and handled. News alert...you don't. Be okay with the fact that you’re going to go through life feeling blind and unsteady and never fully sure of what you’re doing, because that’s how it’s supposed to be.
2. People Are 100% Good or 100% Bad
We are all flawed and even the most upstanding citizen can have flawed moments. Focus on learning as much as you can about a person, about their past and their present and their struggles and their pain, before you succumb to the human instinct of instant judgement.
3. Let Go Of The Hatred Towards Your Body
Enough - stop hating the amazing body that lives, breathes, laughs, drinks pumpkin spice lattes, and keeps us moving! Accept that it’s okay to want to be healthy, to want to be proud of your body, and to want to look good and feel well. But also understand that you are only human, that there will always be something that you don’t like about yourself. The journey isn't about fixing yourself, it's about loving everything that you are.
4. Let Go Of Anger Towards People Who Have Hurt You
Forgive them, bring them back into your life (or don't), but simply move on from the anger that is hurting only you. Then watch how much happier and lighter you are because of it.
5. Let Go Of Flaky Friends
Let go of people who don’t put effort into your relationship. It doesn’t have to be a fight, or a dramatic, official goodbye. But let go of the energy that you spend on them that never gets returned. Come to peace with it, and with them. Be okay with the fact that you can still love them while also letting them go, in order to make room for the friends who always meet you halfway.
6. Let Go With Being Right
Let go of the idea that you must be right all the time. You’re mortal and sometimes you’re wrong and that’s okay. Just own up to it.
7. Let Go Of "It's Too Late"
Let go of your belief that it’s too late to move to Paris for the summer or start the career that you actually want. It is never too late.
8. Let Go Of People Who Make You Feel Like You Have To Change In Order To Be Loved (By Them)
9. Let Go Of 'Watching Life Go By'
Let go of your passivity, of the habit to watch life as it happens to you instead of being in control yourself. Stop convincing yourself that you don’t have that much control over your life, that this is the relationship you're stuck in, or the job you have to keep, or the place you have to live, even if it makes you unhappy. Decide for yourself that you are powerful enough to change things, then start take one step to change it. Just one and see what happens.
10. Let Go Of the Idea That Feelings (Bad or Good) Are A Burden
Let go of the idea that anxiety or depression are things to be ashamed about. Be fair to yourself, accept how you feel, and get the help you deserve. You are not alone.
11. Let Go Of Perfect
Let go of the need/want to be perfect. Embrace your flaws, embrace your failures, embrace all the reasons why you are not flawless. It's actually the flaws that make you better and stronger, not the perfections.
12. Let Go Of Complaining
Let go of sweating the small stuff – a traffic jam, loud neighbors, socks on the floor. Stop letting the little things ruin your life and your relationships. There's a scientific saying, "neurons that fire together, wire together". So don't focus on all the negative things because your brain just might start to become negative.
13. Let Go Of "Half Assing"
Let go of mediocrity, of any inclination to 'half ass' what you're spending your precious time on. Don’t be a mediocre friend, a mediocre employee, a mediocre partner. Work towards giving 100% of what you're focused on. Everything else can wait.
14. Let Go Of Negative PR
Let go of talking negatively about yourself, to other people. This is negative public relations for yourself and when you speak negatively about yourself, it allows others to do the same. Stop.
15. Let Go Of Junk
Let go of wasting obscene amounts of money on things that are not worth it or things you don’t care about.
16. Let Go Of The Noisy World You Live In
Constant notifications, TVs or radios blaring, and scrolling and liking and sharing and clicking. Let yourself have some peace, or even just a moment to live in your own mind and to listen to your own thoughts, without someone or something trying to steal your attention.
17. Let Go Of Toxicity.
Let go of toxic thoughts, toxic things, toxic people, your own toxic behavior. Focus on being kind, on putting more goodness into the world, on giving and loving and making other people happy and relishing in how happy that makes you in return.
