Touted not only the best Thor movie but also one of the best movies in the entire MCU, fans have been wondering when Thor: Ragnarok will be on Netflix. And who can blame them? The movies featuring the Norse god of thunder have been nothing but pure fun since the first one came out in 2011. With a new director at the helm of the franchise, Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok was a worthy addition to the MCU and the subsequent movies since then. Will Thor: Ragnarok Be On Netflix?
Marvel has found it's home on Netflix. The streaming service is already home to several Netflix original TV shows, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and The Defenders. Many of the recent movies in the MCU, like Captain America: Civil War and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, have made their way to Netflix as well.
While Disney is launching it's own streaming service soon, their contract with Netflix hasn't ran out just yet. That means that Thor: Ragnarok will be on Netflix before too long. Newer MCU additions like Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War likely will as well.
When Will Thor: Ragnarok Be On Netflix?
Now that we know Thor: Ragnarok will be on Netflix, it is important to find out when that will be. Unfortunately, we can't give you an exact answer because Netflix hasn't given a release date yet. The good news is that if you get DVDs by mail as part of your subscription, then you can rent the newest Thor movie today if you'd like to.
In the past, MCU movies have been released on Netflix's streaming service approximately 8 months after theatrical release. Thor: Ragnarok came out in early November, putting an approximate release date in June or July. We will keep you updated!
What's Next For The Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Since Thor: Ragnarok was released in theaters in November 2017, two other hit Marvel movies have been released: Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War. In just a few months Ant-Man and the Wasp will be released. As of right now, there are 5 movies left in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Release dates for Phase 4 have been announced.
