When Does The Flash Come Back? Season 5 Return

The season 4 finale of The Flash is tonight, but what we all want to know is: when does The Flash come back on the CW with season 5? This season, we've watched Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) finally get married, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) prepares to become a father again, Iris experienced life as a speedster, and Barry got to walk a mile in his dad's shoes by spending time in prison.

Season 4 has been a wild, exciting ride, and if tonight's finale is anything like previous finales of The Flash, we are going to have another giant cliffhanger on our hands. That means four months of unanswered questions and heartache. We need to know the premiere date of The Flash season 5 more than ever so we all have something to get us through the long and grueling summer ahead of us! Read on to find out when season 5 of The Flash will be back on the CW!

Will The Flash Return In The Fall?

TV shows come and go and sometimes, even our favorite shows get cancelled. (Thank goodness NBC picked up Brooklyn Nine-Nine Did the The Flash make the cut and get picked up for a 5th season on the CW?

It sure did! In fact, all of the DC television shows on the CW got picked up for at least another season! The total number of DC shows on the CW remains at five if you include Arrow, Supergirl, Black Lightning, and Legends of Tomorrow in addition to the The Flash, and they will all be back for the 2018-19 television season.

The Flash Season 5 Projected Premiere Date

Now that we know The Flash will be back for a 5th season, it would be nice to know when the new season will begin! Unfortunately, the CW hasn't given an exact date for when we can expect Barry and the rest of Team Flash to grace our screens once again. However, we do know that it will likely be in the first half of October. The four previous seasons all premiered on October 10th or earlier and we can't see them breaking from that pattern unless they have good reason to.

Although we don't have a premiere date just yet, we have the full fall lineup for the CW next fall.

Sunday nights are also now going to feature new episodes of their scripted dramas, giving fans six nights of new television each week instead of just five. A few shows will also be changing time slots and a few new shows will join the roster, including the Charmed reboot, a Vampire Diaries/Originals reboot, and a new show titled All American.
