Awesome Werewolf Romance Books

Werewolves have always been a big part of urban fantasy. And why not? They come with a lot of romance tropes people love! Fated love, close knit families through packs, some sort of tie to the full moon, and more.

We found a few werewolf romance books we love and wanted to share with you to add to your reading list. If you're anything like me, it's a neverending list of great books. I wish I had the time to read them all!

The fun thing about urban fantasy romance is it often takes place in a world similar to our own, but with a twist. In this case, that twist is werewolves, and we're totally here for it!

1. Pack Enforcer by Laura Dane


Human Nina Reyes' brother get into trouble with dangerous wolves, bringing Lex Warden, Enforcer for the local werewolf pack, charging into Nina's life. Nina's tried to put her past as a grifter behind her, but she'll do what it takes to protect her brother. Too bad there's something about Lex that is just so appealing. And distracting. Lex's job is to protect people and though he knows Nina can take care of herself, she isn't used to taking on angry werewolves. There's also the fact that Nina is his mate and he'll do anything to protect her.

2. Dyre: By Moon's Light by Rachel Bailey


In Rachel Bailey's Dyre: By Moon's Light, werewolf packs have lived alongside humans without them knowing for ages. The Dyre is the one person holding together peace between the packs, a werewolf named Des bound by blood to guard them. But when the Dyre is murdered, Des is sworn to protect the new Dyre, a stubborn young woman named Ruby who she is immediately taken with. Together, they must investigate who is behind the murder of not only the former Dyre, but also of other powerful werewolves. Are they next?

3. Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs


Set in the same world as the Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series, Cry Wolf kicks off a series about a woman named Anna who never knew of the existence of werewolves. At least until she was attacked and became one. For three years, she lingered at the bottom of her new pack, learning to keep to herself and to never trust any of the dominant males in the pack. Anna is an Omega, the rarest type of werewolf, a commodity. Soon, "one of the most powerful werewolves in the country is about to recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate."

4. Captivated by the She-Wolf by Kristal Hollis


Kristal Hollis combines two different shifter mythologies to create an incredible story in Captivated by the She-Wolf. With a good job and a new pack, werewolf Ronni Lyles is doing pretty well for her family after the death of her mate. Then she discovers her brother-in-law intends to make Ronni his wife. Ronni needs to find a way to get the demanding man off her back. Similar to Ronni, raven-shifter Bodie Gryffon just wants to raise his daughter in a safe place. Ronni and Bodie create a practical alliance that quickly turns passionate, but Ronni can tell Bodie is holding something back.

5. Soulless by Gail Carriger


The first book in Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate series, Soulless is the story of Alexia Tarabotti, a 19th century woman who is something of an oddity. At 25 and unmarried, she's a spinster, she doesn't have a soul, and she was just attacked by a vampire she managed to kill him with her parasol. Queen Victoria sends the annoyingly brash werewolf Lord Conall Maccon to investigate vampire disappearances and, despite their dislike for each other, the two team-up figure out what's going on.

6. Moonrise by Ines Johnson


A witch, Lucia has been shelter much of her life in Ines Johnson's Moonrise. She's just moved to the big city, looking for both a new life and for love. Her first day in the city, she meets a shifter, and her life changes forever. She saves his life and is sure he feels the same pull toward her she feels for him. Or he will as soon as he wakes up from his coma. To be able to stay at his side in the hospital, Lucia pretends to be his fiancee, his bonded mate, but when his brother Jackson shows up, Lucia thinks she may have picked the wrong shifter. For months, Jackson has known his mate was near, and when he walks into his brother's hospital room, he knows it's Lucia. Too bad it seems his brother got to her first. Before long, Jackson begins to doubt their engagement, but what will happen when his brother wakes up?

7. Heart of the Pack by Jenny Frame


The first book in Jenny Frame's Wolfgang County series, Heart of the Pack is about an anxious woman named Selena Miller who wants nothing more than to get away from her overbearing family. A new job in Wolfgang County is the perfect opportunity to start over. Caden Wolfgang is the Second in the Wolfgang pack and is horrified when her Alpha lets a human work alongside them. Caden's childhood was filled with trauma wrought by a human and now, Caden is going to do everything she can to keep Selena from the world they've worked so hard to build. However, Caden's contempt slowly turns to passion, but will Selena's own love be enough when she discovers the truth?
