Prepare your heart: you're in for a wild ride!
Tattoo Shop Romances That'll Leave an Impression on Your Heart
With tattoos being more popular than ever, it's no surprise they've bled into romance and become a beloved trope—especially among younger readers. People loved their tattooed heroes and heroines and, it turns out, they also love their tattoo shop romances.
Many readers love characters with an edge, bad boys and girls, and there's something about tattoo artists that gives them an automatic, gritty je ne sais quoi. Not to mention the fact that artists of any kind are always interesting with the ability to create something out of nothing.
One of the great parts of tattoo shop romance books is that many of them are part of a series. That gives you plenty of upcoming reading material.

1. Thorn & Thistle Series by Jennie Davids
Jennie Davids' new Thorn & Thistle series follows the tattoo artists at the Thorn & Thistle tattoo shop as they find love. All the artists in the shop are queer women, with book one titled New Ink on Life, chronicling the romance of shop owner MJ Flores and cancer survivor and tattoo apprentice Cassie Whiteaker. Author Jennie Davids is currently working on the second book in the series.
2. Fractures in Ink by Helena Hunting
While Helena Hunting is better known for her tattoo shop Clipped Wings series, we chose to shine a light on her standalone novel Fractures in Ink. Sarah waitresses at a strip club to pay her way through college. Chris is a renowned tattoo artist with a past. Sarah doesn't want any distractions. Chris thinks she's too good for him anyway. When they collide into each other, they hit hard.
3. Small Change Series by Roan Parrish
A spin-off of Roan Parrish's Middle of Somewhere series, the Small Change series is tied together by the same tattoo shop in South Philly. The first book is about tattoo shop owner Ginger Holtzman and coffee and sandwich shop owner Christopher Lucen, while the second features tattooer Faron Locklear and a boy who has finally come home, Jude Lucen.
4. His Tattooed Virgin by Heather Rainier
In His Tattooed Virgin, Jayne Sheridan always wanted to stay a virgin until her wedding night. But between a life-threatening illness and 10 years passing, she's beginning to doubt she'll ever marry. She's cancer-free now and can't deny her attraction to tattoo artist Seth Carter. Jayne "confuses and intrigues" Seth in ways he never expected.
5. Tonic Series by Staci Hart
Staci Hart's Tonic series takes place in the (you guessed it) Tonic tattoo shop. Tonic is owned by Joel Anderson, the hero of the first book. He meets TV producer Annika Belousov and it's all over from there. The second book in the series, Bad Penny, is regarded as perhaps Staci Hart's best book, about love'em and leave'em Penny and hot geek Bodie.
6. Indelible by Jove Belle
Jove Belle's Indelible features single mother Angie Dressen who wants nothing more than for her son to have the childhood she never had. Luna Rinaldi is the opposite of who she ever saw herself ending up with, and yet she's also thoughtful and cares about Angie and Oliver. In the end, it's Luna who wants more, leaving Angie with a choice to make.
7. Hard Ink Series by Laura Kaye
If you're looking for a tattoo shop romance with a little something extra, Laura Kay's Hard Ink series is the ticket. Five former soldiers now own a tattoo shop together and, in their spare time, take on an organized crime ring with their renegade operation. Oh, and along the way they all find love.
