How to Tell if Someone Blocked You on Messenger
With more than 1 billion people on Facebook, we all know how big the social media site is in people's lives. It's to the point that many people just use Facebook Messenger rather than texting. So how do you tell if someone blocked you on Messenger?
Facebook is one of the primary ways people stay in touch with each other in the modern world. We read each other's posts and shares and message each other using Facebook Messenger. Sometimes, however, people may block you without warning and without even doing anything wrong. We have done a little research into blocking on Facebook Messenger and the ways you will be able to tell if someone has blocked you.
How To Tell If You've Been Blocked You On Facebook Messenger
If you have never interacted with them on Facebook Messenger before, then you need to click on your Facebook Messenger search bar on the app or in an open browser. Type in their name and, if multiple people with the same name pop up, click on the right one and open a chat window with them. Type in a message and try to send it.
If a box pops up that say "This person isn't available right now," then they've probably blocked you for some reason. It is also possible they deactivated their account. If the message goes through, then they haven't blocked you and are possible just taking a break from Facebook.
Did I Get Blocked On Facebook Messenger?
If you have a chat history with the person you think may have blocked you, then you can take another route to see if they've blocked you. Instead, go to your chat history and look for their name. Look for their profile picture and see what color it is outlined with. If the outline is in white, that means you are still able to message them on Facebook Messenger. However, if the outline is black, then you have been blocked by them.
Something to keep in mind is that if someone has blocked you on Facebook Messenger, it doesn't necessarily mean they've also blocked you on Facebook. Maybe they block almost everyone on principle and only accept messages from people they know really well, but don't mind being friends with you on Facebook. Everyone has their quirks and it is hard to say.
