While it may seem like December is dedicated to Christmas, the month is actually filled with holidays, many of which are religious! One such religious holiday is Yule. Yule is an ancient pagan holiday that begins on the Winter Solstice and lasts twelve days, the twelve days of Christmas taking it's origin from Yule. The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year with Yule representing rebirth and the return of life with the upcoming new year. For others, Yule marks the official end of the harvest season, the beginning of winter, and the time of year that honors the Triple Goddess, which is the maiden, mother, and crone. Yule last from December 22, 2019 to January 2, 2020 this season.
