Black Lightning has had an amazing first season so far, and now it's winding down. After Black Lightning season 1 episode 9 airs, there are only four episodes left including the season finale, which airs on Tuesday, April 17th. Cress Williams has been amazing as high school principal, community leader, and retired superhero Black Lightning, who then has to deal with his daughter Anissa (Nafessa Williams) inheriting her newfound superpowers from him. In the last episode, we also find out that Jennifer (China Anne McClain) has powers as well. With the stakes growing after Black Lightning gets framed for murder and Lala's (William Catlett) resurrection (not to mention the talking to a dead woman he killed thing too), it will be interesting to see how Black Lightning season 1 episode 9 and the rest of the season play out.

Titled "The Book of Little Black Lies," Black Lightning season 1 episode 9 follows Jefferson as she continues trying to clear Black Lightning's name and convincing everyone he isn't the murderer. He also continues hunting down Tobias, his father's murderer, along anyone else who my have been involved. It seems that things in Black Lightning season 1 episode 9 are still incredibly tense between Jefferson and Gambi after Gambi's revelations in the last episode, including that he's indirectly responsible for Alvin Pierce's death.

The promo trailer for Black Lightning season 1 episode 9 looks so good! Anissa and Jefferson dress up as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for an interrogation, while Jennifer does not seem to take the family secrets quite as well as her sister. Black Lightning season 1 episode 9 also appears to involve a hitman and Gambi confessing to doing something bad. We really cannot wait to see how the episode unfolds.

As far as spoilers for Black Lightning season 1 episode 9 go, Cress Williams says that, for Jennifer discovering her powers, things will "be different because she comes at it from a different perspective." Williams adds that, "Even if you separate powers, you see that there's a difference in personality types and what's important to them between Anissa and Jennifer. Once powers are introduced, they also subsequently take different roads and have different reactions to it." After watching Jennifer's powers first manifest in the last episode and then Anissa figuring it out, it is going to be so interesting to watch the way two sisters who are close though very different react so differently to gaining superpowers.
