The Best Romance Anthologies To Read This Year
Mix things up with an anthology!
Are there ever times when you want to read something but just don't feel like starting a book because it just feels like too much? I know I've been there more times than I can count.
That's the awesome thing about romance anthologies. They're filled with romance stories of varying lengths, from short story to novella, and great for whatever time frame you need. In addition, you get to read stories by not only your favorite romance writers, but also get to check out new writers too. That's a pretty sweet deal for just one book!
We found a nice mixture of romance anthologies, including a bit of historical, own voices, fantasy, and more! It should give you plenty of stories to keep you busy for awhile, right?
1. Rogue series
While it began as just a single anthology, the response to the Rogue anthology series, transformed into seven volumes before it finally wrapped up! It began as a way to combine romance and politics to help temporarily alleviate our sorrows from the current political climate. I think the blurb sums it up best: "Welcome to The Resistance, where ordinary Americans find love and strength while fighting for their ideals. Politics has never been so sexy." Indeed!

The historical romance anthology, The Dukes of Vauxhall, is a combined effort of writers Vanessa Kelly, Christi Caldwell, Theresa Romain, and Shana Galen. Each of the four stories take place in the same world in which both England's victory in the Battle of Waterloo and the Prince's birthday are cause for lavish celebrations in the notorious Vauxhall Gardens of London. Four dukes find love with four ladies, each love story tackled by separate author.

Girls Next Door is a romance anthology featuring queer woman of various identities. While not all of the relationships literally center around the girl next door (though some of them do), they are all women a main character is in close proximity with: their best friend, the new woman in town, a teammate, an ex-girlfriend.
