Why Was Bekah M Reported Missing? The Bachelor Star Explains
Why Did Bekah M's Mom Report Her Missing?
The Bachelor's Bekah Martinez may have lost out on the chance to win the heart of a much older, fairly boring Arie Luyendyk Jr., but we will always have fond memories of the only Bachelor contestant to rock short hair. For example, this Bekah M. Jimmy Kimmel interview. Finally, we now know why Bekah M. was reported missing in California, by her mother, no less.
After Monday's Episode of The Bachelor, where the fan-favorite of the season ultimately did not receive a rose, Bekah appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for her first post-Bachelor appearance and she explained why she was reported missing a few weeks ago.
So, why was Bekah M. missing? The 22-year-old nanny from Los Angeles admitted to the host that she was shocked not to receive the rose, and that she's "picking up the pieces as I go along."
"For one thing, I have been a fan of the show for years… I've been telling my family and friends like, ‘Yeah I'm going on The Bachelor one day."
She also admits why her mom originally reported her missing, and which former Bachelorette contestant she hoped would be the bachelor, instead of Arie, this season.
Bekah M. Wanted Peter Kraus To Be The Bachelor
Most fans were kind of stunned that Arie was picked to be the Bachelor this season. He's a bit long in the tooth, and a bit dull.
Peter Kraus, who was in the final two of the Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay season, was Beech's first pick.
She told Jimmy:
"Well, I was hoping it would be Peter and it ended up being Arie."
Am I naive? Out of the loop? Do contestants not even know who they're signed up to force to love that season?! How does anyone find LOVE NOWADAYS!?

Bekah M. Reported Missing
Bekah also set the record straight when it comes to her hilarious missing person mishaps. Or, as hilarious as a "missing person" story could be… which I guess, is not that funny after all.
"First of all, a lot of people thought I lied to my mother saying that I was on a farm when I was actually on The Bachelor but no, I had already been eliminated from the show.
"I just decided to go to the mountains with my friends for a couple weeks and I was there for six or seven days without phone service which I thought I was going to have phone service and I told my mother that I would.
"I just had this weird feeling like on the sixth or seventh day, I need to go home now. So I got in my car, drove to where I had service, called my parents and then come to find out only 12 hours before my mother had called the Humboldt Sheriff's Department saying that I was missing."
Bekah did clarify, "I'm not a weed farmer. I'm still a nanny in L.A.," which sounds like exactly what a weed farmer would say.
