Earlier this week, the North Coast Journal published a story about the Humboldt 35 -- a comprehensive list of missing people in Humboldt County, California from 1977 to now.
After posting the article to Facebook, a fan realized that Bekah M., a contestant on The Bachelor, was listed -- while she is, in fact, not missing. Unless Arie kidnapped her, and honestly with the 14 year age difference we can't be sure. Just kidding.
Bekah M., who is a 22-year-old nanny and switched things up on The Bachelor by being the only girl in 22 seasons to have short hair, is currently hoping to win the love of Arie Luyendyk Jr.
According to North Coast Journal, however, she's Rebekah Helena Martinez, and she was last seen November 12, 2017 -- not last seen in a rustic hot tub trying to make out with an older man... Oooh, okay, I can see how that can seem kind of "abduction-y."
So how did Bekah get listed as a missing person when we can check on her well being every Monday night at 8 PM ET?

Be Prepare For The Bekah-ning
Ya'll know Bekah. She's the 22-year-old who is trying to win the heart of a 36-year old on The Bachelor. She's quirky, she's cute, she's got short hair. She's also technically a missing person. #Relatable.
Bekah Was Reported Missing In November
Bekah was reported missing in Humboldt county in November -- around the same time The Bachelor started filming. The missing person listing is still on the attorney general's website.
She was reported missing by her mother.
"Martinez had reportedly come to Humboldt County to work on a marijuana farm. Her mother hadn't heard from her since Nov. 12, 2017," Samantha Karges of the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office told the Journal.
Bachelor Nation Solves The Case
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office then made contact with Bekah to confirm she wasn't missing. A sheriff's deputy told the Journal:
"I just got off the phone with Rebekah. She is in fact the same person. She has been removed from (the Missing and Unidentified Persons Unit)."
Bekah Was Active On Social Media While "Missing"
Bekah often posted to her Instagram and Twitter accounts while she was "missing," even live-tweeting the show.
Bekah Took To Twitter To Clear Up The Misunderstanding
Bekah apparently warned everyone that she would be appearing on the show and that she'd have limited cell time.
But I get it: if I don't reply to a text my mom assumes I'm either dead or in the shower. TBH, I wouldn't put it past my own mother calling 911 over a call sent to voicemail.
How Old Is Bekah M?
Bekah M is 22, leaving a 14 year age gap between her and Arie on The Bachelor.
Age ain't nothing but a number? But I guess, technically, Bekah is a grown ass woman who can handle herself.
