Viola Davis Is Getting A Star And It's Restoring Our Faith In Humanity
2017 is already starting off right with the first star of the year going to Viola Davis!
With the restrictive laws passed in Ohio and Texas this month, 2016 has left many women feeling a bit uneasy about what 2017 has in store, but there is one bright light helping us see the end of the tunnel: the fabulous, incredible, talented, amazing, queen b, bad bitch Viola Davis is getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
There is one main reason this is such a big deal and so freaking amazing: Viola Davis herself, and many of the characters she portrays, do not do what society expects of them. They are strong, empowered, confident, defiant, incredible and independent black women, who embrace and celebrate their black womanhood.
The fact that Hollywood is recognizing the value of that persona and celebrating it, is, for lack of a better term, awesome, and it's about god damn time.
Her star will be officially unveiled on January 5th!
