Wondering who the cast would want back on Grey's Anatomy?

Here's Who the Cast of 'Grey's Anatomy' Would Bring Back (If They Could)

We've lost quite a few of our favorite characters throughout the course of Grey's Anatomy. Now that we're at 332-episode – and counting – there's plenty of material on Netflix to keep us satisfied if we miss one of our late – or simply missing – characters from previous seasons. As we move onto more episodes, we can't help but wondering we wish would return to Grey's Anatomy in the future. I mean, we know it's possible, especially after Teddy (Kim Raver) made her comeback in season 14. Never say never, right? Regardless, it's always fun to think about old characters returning to Grey Sloan Memorial – even if they are dead.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the current cast of Grey's Anatomy revealed who they would like to see back on set. And to be honest, we totally agree with all of these suggestions – I mean, opinions. Perhaps another near-death experience to get the ghosts rolling back in? Who knows?

Regardless, here is who the cast would like to see return. Do you agree with them all?

Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

While she's killing it on Killing Eve, most of the Grey's Anatomy cast would love for Sandra Oh's Cristina Yang to return to the show. In fact, 5 out of 13 people interviewed revealed that they want Cristina back, including Ellen Pompeo, James Pickens Jr., Kevin McKidd, Kim Raver, and Krista Vernoff, the showrunner.

Pompeo: "I would love for Sandra Oh to be on the show but not more than I love seeing Sandra Oh out there in the world doing her thing. Not more than I love seeing her shine on her own at the Golden Globes and on Killing Eve. So I would say no [to that]. I love everybody who has been on this show, regardless of their time here and whether it was tumultuous or not."

Pickens: "I've been in this business almost 40 years and Sandra Oh brought something very special to every scene."

McKidd: "Sandra Oh's Cristina, especially the way things are right now with Amelia, Teddy, and Owen. To throw her into the mix at the same time? Owen would literally keel over and never get up again."

Raver: "Sandra Oh. I started off having crazy, intense scenes with her — like when Henry (Scott Foley) was dying and I love her as a friend and admire her as an actress."

Vernoff: "Sandra Oh. I miss writing for Sandra and Cristina."

Putting our two cents in, we would love to see Cristina back – at least for the series finale.

Richard Herrmann as Norman Shales

Justin Chambers, who plays Alex, has a surprising pick. Chambers said that he would love for the great Richard Herrmann to return as Norman Shales.

"He played my intern for a while and was such a joy to work with." Chambers said. "He passed on but I felt very lucky to work with him."

Sadly, Chambers is correct. The Gilmore Girls actor passed away in 2014.

T.R. Knight as George O'Malley

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

We were so happy to hear that Chandra Wilson, who plays Bailey, would love for T.R. Knight to return as George O'Malley.

"Bailey was crazy about George O'Malley," Wilson said. "But the thing about our show is we always keep our past characters alive; there is nobody we don't ever not talk about because every one of those characters has been the foundation for why we're here."

Frances Conroy as Eleanor Davis

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

This is another surprising pick, considering how much fans miss the lovely Sarah Drew. However, we don't blame Jesse Williams, who plays Jackson, for choosing Frances Conroy.

"he was here in season seven and I didn't get to work with her," Williams said. "She is tremendous and was on one of my favorite shows ever: Six Feet Under."

Kyle Chandler as Dylan Young

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

We knew this couldn't get by without someone mentioning Coach – I mean – Dylan Young.

"Kyle Chandler," said *Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo. "I love *Friday Night Lights."

We don't blame her.

Chyler Leigh as Lexie Grey

Grey's Anatomy on ABC

Caterina Scorsone chose a fan-favorite that will probably have the tears flowing if you think for long enough.

"Chyler Leigh (Lexie)," Scorsone said. "She is so much fun and is great with drama and comedy. I'm sad that I didn't get to work with her more."

Now, this is something we can't definitely get behind. Honestly, could you imagine what the show would be like if Amelia and Lexie interacted?

Kate Burton as Ellis Grey

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

Now, Kelly McCreary, who plays Maggie Pierce, also has in mind a character that we would love to see Maggie interact with.

"Kate Burton," McCreary said. "I'd love for Maggie and Ellis to interact. Kate and I did a play together in 2014. She's one of my favorite people."

Double yes!

Jessica Capshaw as Arizona Robbins

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

Andrew DeLuca's alter ego, Giacomo Gianniotti revealed that he misses Jessica Capshaw and her humor. And if we're all being really honest here, so do we.

"We would laugh until snot was coming out of our noses," Gianniotti said. "I miss having her around."

Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

Before Debbie Allen played Katherine Avery, she spent time behind the scenes, directing Grey's Anatomy. So her pick is certainly nice to hear, especially for long-time fans.

"I had so much fun directing Patrick Dempsey when he was here," Allen said. "I nicknamed him Dash because he would come on the set, look at his watch and want to keep it moving. He never liked to do a lot of takes but was always great. I didn't get to act with him but I did some of his best scenes while I was here. We think of him fondly."
