What Did John do at Venmo?

So, what exactly did John do at Venmo? Well, the engineer joined the Venmo team in 2011 as a developer, becoming the fifth active hire. So, did John create Venmo? Not exactly, seeing as Andrew Kortina and Iqram Magdon-Ismail are credited with creating the popular app. But John is still considered one of the foundational members of the company.

What is John Working on Now?

Now that John's Venmo days are behind him, he is now working for Fin as a product engineer. The company is a startup in the Bay Area from former Facebook executive Sam Lessin and Venmo co-founder Andrew Kortina.

Fin is focused on creating a virtual assistant similar to the operating system from the movie Her. According to the official website, "Fin grows and learns. Fin has an opinion. Fin surprises me and challenges me. Talking to Fin is a real conversation, not just a query and response or command dispatch."
