Will There Be A Teen Wolf Spinoff After The Series Finale?
The Teen Wolf series finale is finally here! While we anticipate the fate of Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O'Brien), and the rest of the pack of Beacon Hills, we are still holding out hope for a Teen Wolf spinoff — especially after learning about that flash-forward scene in the Teen Wolf series finale! As much as we would love for Teen Wolf to continue forever, would a reboot feature anyone from the main cast? We're not sure if our hearts could handle a Teen Wolf series without Scott. So, will there be a Teen Wolf spinoff series?
Is There Going To Be A Teen Wolf Spinoff Show?
Technically, yes. Teen Wolf is getting a new spinoff show, but it will be like something we've never seen before. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that show creator and executive producer, Jeff Davis, will keep the franchise alive by turning Teen Wolf into a podcast. That is, until the Teen Wolf spinoff gets picked up as a television show.
"These characters and these stories have hit a peak," MTV president Chris McCarthy said. "We are talking with Jeff about how do we actually keep that franchise alive. And the beauty of the evolution of media is you can see the series going on through a series of podcasts and then see a resurrection of a new class in a couple years."
Who Will Be On The Teen Wolf Spinoff Show?
The Teen Wolf spinoff IMDb page states that the new show will take place a couple of years after Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) left Beacon Hills. However, the series focuses on Scott returning to Beacon Hills to "help the next class of werewolves and other creatures."
So, it looks like at least one Teen Wolf alum will be joining the spinoff team.
How Will The Teen Wolf Series Finale End?
Since we know that a Teen Wolf reboot is in the works, fans are wondering what will happen in the Teen Wolf series finale. Will the transition from the series we know and love to the new spinoff feel natural? Will the Teen Wolf series finale be a backdoor pilot to the new spinoff?
"The talk of reboot actually happened when the episode was all done, so there was never really a thought of putting in certain threads to leave off," Davis told Women.com. "What I do like about the way it ends, though, is that it feels like the story continues in its world. It’s not one of those series finales that blows everything up, kills half or most of the cast. We always wanted to do a kind of, 'The adventure continues…' ending."
