J.K. Rowling Not The Author? New Harry Potter Books 2017

Earlier this year, J.K. Rowling announced that she would be opening a Harry Potter exhibit at the British Library in celebration of the Harry Potter series' 20-year anniversary. The magical exhibit will feature the History of Magic.

Two new Harry Potter Books will be released to accompany the exhibit. The titles are "Harry Potter: A History of Magic, The Book of the Exhibition" and " "Harry Potter, A Journey Through a History of Magic."

Harry Potter: A History of Magic, The Book of the Exhibition

First, we are getting "Harry Potter: A History of Magic, The Book of the Exhibition," which "promises to take readers on a fascinating journey through the subjects studied at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry – from Alchemy and Potions classes through to Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures."

Harry Potter - A Journey Through a History of Magic

Next up, we're getting "Harry Potter - A Journey Through a History of Magic," which will be "packed with unseen sketches and manuscript pages from J.K. Rowling, magical illustrations from Jim Kay and weird, wonderful and inspiring artifacts that have been magically released from the archives at the British Library."

When Will "Harry Potter - A Journey Through a History of Magic" And "Harry Potter: A History of Magic, The Book of the Exhibition" Be Released?

These titles sound truly magical! What Harry Potter fan isn't excited at this point? It could we could Accio these new books to us now! But, it looks like we're going to have to wait until their release on October 20th!

Is J.K. Rowling Not The Author Of The Two New 2017 Harry Potter Books?

As much as we love Jo, it looks like she won't be the author of the new books. The author biography on the British Library website tells us that both books were written by the British Library's curatorial team.

The statement says, "This richly researched and fascinating exploration of magical history is written by the British Library’s curatorial team and essayists Steve Backshall, the Reverend Richard Coles, Owen Davies, Julia Eccleshare, Roger Highfield, Steve Kloves, Lucy Mangan, Anna Pavord and Tim Peake."

While Jo didn't actually write either book, we're sure that she had some say, and we're still super excited!
