Grey's Anatomy has had its fair share of spectacular guest stars, but as massive fans of Dirty Dancing, this news has got us jumping with excitement.
On Thursday, TVLine confirmed that Jennifer Grey would be joining the ABC medical drama for a multi-episode arc when the series returns in the new year.
But who will Grey play on Grey's Anatomy? Could she be related to Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) or even Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington)?
Who Will Jennifer Grey Play on Grey's Anatomy?
Unfortunately, ABC did not confirm details on Grey's character on Grey's, nor did they confirm how many episodes she would be guest starring in.
While it would be serendipitous if Grey turned out to be related to Meredith Grey, we're sick of the long-lost Grey family member that randomly shows up on Meredith's doorstep.
However, it could potentially be interesting if Grey turned out to be Molly Thompson, who was Lexie's sister and Meredith's other half-sister.
We know that Thatcher Grey (Jeff Perry) is returning to the series in season 15 and he's not doing well.
It's possible that Thatcher will bring-on some Grey relatives we haven't seen in a while. Though, the likelihood of this actually happening is slim considering we've already seen Molly and we don't see the Grey's team recasting her character.
Another theory that is much more plausible, is that Grey will be playing Jo Wilson's mom.
It was confirmed by Luddington herself that viewers would finally get to meet Jo's parents this season. And we certainly think that Grey fits that bill.
But hey, anything can happen, right? This is Grey's Anatomy, after all.
