How will Grey's Anatomy celebrate a massive television milestone?
Everything You Need to Know About This Special Grey's Anatomy Episode
Christmas came early, Grey's Anatomy fans!
How you take this news will determine if you've been bad or good this year.
Just kidding, but hopefully these spoilers will get you hyped on what's coming in the second half of season 15, all while making you feel old that Grey's is about to reach record-breaking heights in 2019.
Has it been that long already?
Regardless, we know you're anxiously anticipating what's to come in season 15, especially since we were left high and dry by ABC with not even a midseason premiere date to look forward to.
So if you're ready for this, then we're here to deliver. Here are some spoilers on an upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy season 15.
Grey's Anatomy Reaches a New Record in Television
In case you didn't know, Grey's Anatomy has been around since 2005.
The only other medical drama that's been around for that long is ER, which went on from 1994 to 2009 and 331 episodes.
Now, Grey's Anatomy is about to beat ER's record for longest-running medical drama in an upcoming episode of season 15. And yes, they have every reason to celebrate.
So how will the Grey's team highlight this victory? Here's what we know so far.
What's Happening in the Special Episode?
TV Line confirmed that Grey's Anatomy would be doing a little something special for its milestone episode sometime in early 2019.
A source revealed that Grey's is actually "planning to quietly, cheekily acknowledge the milestone with a special episode that is — get this — medicine-free. That's right, the record-shattering outing — to be directed by Chandra Wilson — will feature nary a single medical story line."
Is Grey's Anatomy without the medicine even Grey's at all?
Of course, we admit that we love the drama, but how can they even get away with a storyline that doesn't somehow tie into medicine when everything that ties our favorite characters together is medicine?
While unconfirmed, TV Line guesses that this non-medical episode will feature the introduction of Jo Wilson's parents, which was heavily hinted at before the start of season 15 by actress Camilla Luddington herself.
Now, that's some drama that we can get behind!
Regardless, we know that this episode is going to be a hit, especially if the lovely Chandra Wilson is going to be behind the camera.
