Does April Kepner Die On Grey's Anatomy?
Is Sarah Drew Leaving Grey's Anatomy With April Kepner's Death?
It's time to get your tissues out, Grey's Anatomy fans. If you saw the Grey's Anatomy preview for next week's episode, entitled "Cold As Ice," we bet you're still in shock. And it has fans asking does April Kepner die on Grey's Anatomy? What happens to April Kepner? We know that actress Sarah Drew is leaving Grey's this season, but does this mean she'll go out like Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey)? We're honestly worried sick about our girl. And all we can do now is pray to the Shondaland gods.
If you missed out on the May 3rd episode of the ABC medical drama, then you'll want to catch up on what happened on Hulu or ABC's website first. However, if you have seen the episode or if you don't care about spoilers, keep reading, because this one's going to be big. But, you have been warned. Spoilers for episodes 22 and 23 of season 14 ahead!
In this week's episode, entitled "Fight For Your Mind," we watched as April and Jackson (Jesse Williams) make their peace after Jackson revealed that he paid off all of the settlements caused by the Harper Avery allegations by himself. April told him, "You are on a really good path." giving all Japril fans some hope that they would get back together.
Unfortunately, like most things on Grey's, no one is safe. Especially April. The preview for next week's episode makes it clear that our favorite redhead might die. But, if she does, how does April die? We're honestly shaking. Here's everything we know so far, including words from Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) herself!
Sarah Drew Is Leaving NCIS. But Will April Die?
So, what's coming next week? What happens to April in next week's episode? We need to find out if April Kepner is dying and if she does, how does she die?
The promo trailer makes is clear that Kepner is in some serious trouble. It appears that Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) finds her knocked out on the grass. So, we know that something happens to her outside of the hospital. What happened? We'll have to wait to see what happens next week.
Back at Grey Sloan, it looks like Meredith is on the case, performing surgery on her as Jackson runs inside in a panic. We also see Meredith breaking down in front of Alex.
So, it doesn't look good, especially since we already know that Sarah Drew is leaving Grey's along with Jessica Capshaw, who plays Arizona Robbins.
But, there is one thing that Ellen Pompeo said that gives us all hope.
Ellen Pompeo On April And Arizona's Departure
While we're super nervous about our favorite characters on Grey's, Pompeo hints that not all is as it seems. So, could it be possible that Kepner survives whatever happens next week?
"You only get killed off when your behavior is bad. If you're a nice actor, you die nice," Pompeo told Entertainment Tonight, while comparing April and Arizona's exits to Cristina Yang, who was played by Sandra Oh. "[Oh] left in the most amazing way. She gave everybody so much notice. She knew 10 seasons was all she wanted to do and they don't get much classier than Sandra Oh. But yeah, these endings aren't tragic."
It's official. April's exit isn't tragic.
This means she can't die, right? Right? However, any exit is tragic to a Grey's fan. We know we're going to be devestated when Capshaw and Drew leave no matter the reason.
But, why does April leave Grey's? Although we might be reaching, we think that April will survive whatever happens in next week's episode. However, it makes her realize that she needs to leave Grey Sloan to move on with her life. Perhaps she'll move to New York along with Arizona. Who knows?
So, we leave you with our fan theory and the trailer for next week's episode.
