Can Someone Tell If I Google Them?

If the person is just your average Joe, then they probably can't track down if you specifically and directly Googled them. So, in short, no. The person you Googled probably will not find out that you personally Googled them. So, your identity and IP address will not be revealed to the person based on a basic Google search. If you Googled someone's name and that search directed you to their Facebook profile, the person you Google searched would not be notified by your query.

Feeling pretty safe now, right? Well, that's not exactly the end when it comes to figuring out if someone Googled you.

Can Someone See If I Googled Them If They Own The Website

If the person you Googled happens to own the website that Google linked to, you might be in a bit of trouble. It's possible that the person can find out a few things from your Google search. By using tools like Google Analytics, the person who owns the website can find out what queries took a user to get to their site. So, if you landed on a page by searching someone's name on Google, then they could see that you searched their name to get there. The website owner may also obtain the IP address, operating system, browser, and in some cases, the region in which you are accessing the site, down to the metropolitan area. Crazy, right?

While it's possible for a website owner to get this information, it's not enough to thoroughly identify you, especially if the person you Googled is not the next Bill Gates. So, can someone see if you Google them? Probably not.
