American Gods

After the recent death of his wife, an ex-convict named Shadow Moon takes a job as a bodyguard for a con man named Mr. Wednesday. Shadow's new boss turns out to be much more however, as he introduces him to an underworld where magic still exists and the Gods of old struggle with the popularity of the New Gods such as Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday has a plan to unite the Old Gods however, and to launch a resistance in which they attempt to regain their lost influence.


Supernatural is the tale of two incredibly hunky brothers who follow in their dad's footsteps by hunting down evil supernatural creatures living among us, including demons, evil gods, and unsavory beings of any sort.


Fortitude, a small tight-knit community in the Arctic Circle, has always been considered one of the safest places on earth by its residents. American Horror Story

The Walking Dead

One Day Sheriff Deputy Rick Grimes awakens from a coma to find that the world has been taken over by "walkers" aka zombies…hungry ones. There's also now a spin-off called "Fear the Walking Dead" about two families in Los Angeles who are also attempting to survive the undead ordeal.

Penny Dreadful

In Penny Dreadful, classic literary characters such as Dr. Frankenstein and Dorian Gray are brought back to life amid the dark landscape of Victorian London. They're joined by an explorer named Sir Malcolm who lost his daughter to sinister forces, which he's joined by clairvoyant Vanessa Ives in an attempt to hunt down. The two recruit a handsome American gunslinger named Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) to aid them in their quest and help slay the monsters they encounter along the way.

Stranger Things

This Netflix original is not only a nail biter, it's also packed full of nostalgia and a number of really sweet moments between the younger members of its cast. It revolves around a young boy who mysteriously vanishes, leading his mother (Winona Ryder), friends, and other residents of their small town on a search that uncovers mysterious forces, secret experiments, and one very unique little girl.

The Originals

In this "Vampire Diaries" spin-off, a family of 1000 year old vampires, who as you may know from subsequent vampire trilogies are all of course incredibly sexy, return to New Orleans, the city it turns out they founded. There they attempt to regain control of the town by forming alliances with a group of witches as they mount an epic vampire power struggle.

The Magicians

Based on the best-selling book series by the same name, The Magicians is the tale of Quinten Coldwater, a grad student who grew up in love with a series of books about a magical land named Fillory. One day Quinten discovers a special school where he learns that only is magic real, so is Fillory- though it's not necessarily the fairy tale world he had always imagined.

The Exorcist: The TV Series

If you're a fan of the classic horror movie The Exorcist, then get ready for the terrors of possession to rise again. The Exorcist is now also a TV show, in which a woman named Angela Rance begins to suspect that her home has fallen prey to the presence of dark forces. As her husband slowly loses his mind and her children begin to withdraw and hear strange noises, she calls in the help of a Chicago priest named Father Tomas Ortega, who mounts a battle against ancient evil forces.


In this fantasy series, a Portland detective named Nick Burkhardt learns that the characters in Grimm's fairy tales are actually real creatures who masquerade as humans. As it turns out, Nick comes from a long line of Grimms, who can see them change back into their natural form even when other humans can't. With the help of his friends and partner, he uses his skills to hunt down some of the more sinister creatures who decide to use their attributes for evil.

The Strain

When an airplane lands full of dead passengers, Dr. Ephraim Goodweather is called in to investigate what went wrong. He and his team discover that an ancient virus which contains the seeds of vampirism has been set loose on the world. Goodweather, his team, and a group of city residents are forced to fight back against an epidemic that could mean the end of the human race.

Sleepy Hollow

When Ichabod Crane wakes up in modern day times, he discovers that he's not the only one who has recently landed in the future. The infamous headless horseman is once more on the prowl and regularly rides out on bloody rampages throughout modern day Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod teams up with a police woman named Abbie Mills to solve a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers and on which the future of humanity may depend.
