Her Therapist Said One Thing And Her Life Changed Forever
We're all down sometimes, and that is totally ok. For this mom, her therapist said one thing that forever changed her life and gave her the epiphany she was looking for.
As anyone who has ever been, had, or known a mother can tell you, being a mom could justly be called one of the hardest jobs in the world. Despite the fact that it’s a full time position with no breaks, it’s one which many women tend to criticize themselves relentlessly over. After all, motherhood doesn’t exactly come with a guidebook and the series of necessary best guesses entailed in the on-the-job training can be incredibly stressful.
In the latest episode of “Truth Bomb Mom,” vlogger mom Kristina Kuzmic gets real about a time in her life when she confesses she wasn’t exactly holding her breath for a parent of the year nomination. Throughout the video she opens up about a rough patch in her life when she was forced to struggle through the aftermath of a divorce with a 2 and 3-year old in tow.
“I was obviously overwhelmed,” Kristina says of that period in her life. “Completely broke, on food stamps, sharing a bed with my children. I couldn’t even afford my own bed so I slept on the floor next to my kids’ bunk bed, and I was really depressed.”
During what seemed like one of the darkest times in her life, Kristina confesses being plagued by guilt over things like frequent trips to cry alone while her kids watched TV or not having the energy to whip up the home cooked meals her kids were used to. Fortunately however, Kristina wasn’t battling it out alone.
Watch below as she explains how a courageously honest talk with her therapist gave her just the perspective she needed to make it through some of her most difficult times. Throughout the course of the episode, Kristina explains how she came to realize that being a great mom isn’t always about being 100% all the time- but about being there for your kids anyway, even when you’re not.
