You can detox just about anything, so why not your pits?

Why You Should Detox Your Armpits

Detoxes are fairly common in Los Angeles.

At any given time, I can name at least one person going through one to rid their body of all sorts of toxins.

But never in my life did I think I would be one of those people. Yet here I am to tell you all about why you need to detox your armpits.

My experience started earlier this month at FounderMade's Consumer Discovery Show in Santa Monica, California. There I was laying pits up in the middle of the trade show floor getting my armpits detoxed by a charismatic woman at Kopari Beauty's booth.

They were promoting their aluminum-free coconut deodorant to attendees and offered an armpit mask to rid your pits of toxins before making the switch to their non-toxic formula.

It was then I saw the light and realized the importance of an armpit detox for one's body. So here I am to tell all of you why you need to detox your pits to switch to natural deodorant and just how to detox them at home, so you're not forced to expose your pits in front of C-level execs.

Benefits of Detoxing Your Armpits

A detoxing of the armpits is generally done when one wishes to switch from their chemical antiperspirant or deodorant to one that's free of these chemicals.

Seeing as your armpits and an entry and exit point on your body, they tend to absorb almost all of what your body puts on them, including the nasty chemicals in your deodorant. This can decrease your immune system and increase your risk of cancer.

Plus, chemical deodorants and antiperspirants block your pits from sweating, instead locking in all sorts of bacteria. More natural and chemical-free deodorant doesn't do that, working with your body's sweat to make your pits smell fresher than ever.

Long story short, participating in an armpit detox will rid your pits of the toxins and chemicals that have been trapped there by your go-to deodorant or antiperspirant.

How to Detox Your Armpits

So now that you know why you should be detoxing your armpits, how do you actually do it? I was lucky enough to have mine done myself, but I learned that using a bentonite clay mask would do the trick.

Mix some bentonite clay with apple cider vinegar, slap it on your pits, let it sit for five minutes, then wipe it off and relish in your fresh armpits.

You can use this mask up to two to three times per week.

I'll be honest, I haven't done an armpit detox since my first one, but I have been sticking to using chemical-free deodorant.
