Let's go camping!

These Attendees Went Full Camp at the 2019 Met Gala

As with every first Monday in May, the coveted Met Gala took place last night.

The theme was camp, inspired by Susan Sontag's essay titled Notes on "Camp". In it, Sontag lists 58 different definitions of what camp is, giving attendees who do their research plenty to work with.

Many of them did, though most opted for a fitted black suit or simply flowing dress. However, there were a handful of looks that went full camp.

We've rounded up the campiest looks for you to feast your eyes on from the 2019 Met Gala. So buckle up, because we're going camping!

1. Billy Porter

Our favorite look of the night was definitely Billy Porter's "Old Testament Realness." From being carried onto the carpet by a harem of gold-plated men to showing off his theatrical wings, he brought it. This looks is untouchable.

2. Katy Perry

Bringing the light in the dark world, Katy Perry went full camp with her chandelier ensemble. Inside, she transformed into a hamburger. We're not sure which is campier.

3. Lady Gaga

As one of the co-chairs for the Met and someone who has been camp for a large majority of their career, we expected a lot from Lady Gaga. Lucky for us, the multi-hyphenate brought it to the pink carpet, offering four different looks in under five minutes. That's how you do it, folks.

4. Serena Williams

Another co-chair for the event, Serena Williams was a vision in a neon yellow frock with matching Nike shoes to boot. The mix of over-the-top eleganza and stylish comfort was everything.
