The verdict is in— Meredith might be the only one who doesn't find love in season 15 of Grey's Anatomy.

It's been confirmed that season 15 of Grey's Anatomy will be themed the "Season of Love", but not much else about what this will entail. Until now, we haven't heard much about Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) involvement with the theme.

We already know that Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) will be living out their new marriage. We've also confirmed that Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) will be returning pregnant with Owen Hunt's (Kevin McKidd) baby.

However, have no clue as to what type of romance will lie in Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) future. Today, we're bringing you Grey's Anatomy season 15 spoilers for Meredith's love life.

Since the passing of our beloved McDreamy, Meredith has been in and out of shallow romances, none of which made any real impact on her. As much as we can hope that the "Season of Love" will bless Meredith with a bae, it's been looking less and less likely to happen.

However, sources have been sending us mixed signals. So, what's the truth?

What's Meredith Grey Been Up To In The Romance Department?

We've seen some hope for love for Meredith since we lost Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), but nothing too promising. Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) was really forced in there rather quickly, but as we know that didn't get far. We liked Riggs, but he definitely wasn't right for Meredith, and the connection never felt genuine.

In this past season, we saw a very short lived romance between Meredith and guest star Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman). There was so much chemistry between the two that fans have been dying to know if he will return for season 15 to play a role in Meredith's life. However, the recent updates we've gotten tell us Marsh will not be returning.

It turns out Meredith won't be getting lucky with love this season. According to Channing Dungey, ABC entertainment's president, Meredith will continue living out the single life for this upcoming season. We cried a little when we heard this news, until we learned what else was in store for her.

"Meredith [is going to] have a new trajectory that is more focused on who she is as a single mother and surgeon," Dungey told TVLine. "Ellen has spoken very loudly about how she doesn't want all of Meredith's adventures to be romantic ones."

It looks like the writers of Grey's have a new grand plan for Meredith's character that doesn't involve a man at all. Instead, Meredith will explore her role as a surgeon and single mother. In the past, all we've really gotten out of her was who she is when she's in love, so we're excited to really see this other side of her.

There have also been hints that part of this emotional exploration will be into Alzheimer's disease, something that has plagued her family history. There's no denying that Meredith is a brilliant and gifted doctor, and we'd love to see more of her talent shining through. We're just happy that Meredith is recognized for more than just her romantic interests!

However, there seems to be more to Mer's story than what Dungey told us. Perhaps Meredith will find love after all.

Who Will Meredith End Up With in Grey's Anatomy Season 15?

When Dungey released the statement, we thought that Grey's Anatomy's "Season of Love" would not bring much romance to Meredith. However, showrunner Krista Vernoff clears up the situation.

"Channing was keeping it mellow and trying to avoid spoilers because Shondaland is secrecy land," Vernoff said. "But as the showrunner, I can confirm for you that Meredith Grey is very much a part of our Season of Love."

We're over the moon with this news! However, Dungey's statement still stands. Mer is more than just a romance plotline.

"Yes, [Mer]'s a single mom, and that complicates a dating life. And yes, she's a surgical marvel with new, game changing medical ideas she'll be pursuing," Vernoff said. "But she also hasn't dated at all since [Martin Henderson's] Nathan Riggs left [in Season 13]. And the one-two punch of meeting [Scott Speedman's] Nick Marsh awoke a desire in her that she can't put back to sleep."

Now, the question isn't if she will find love, it's who she will find love with.

And we're so here for it.

Who do you want Meredith do end up with in season 15, Grey's fans?!
