Season 14 was one of the most dramatic in Grey's Anatomy history. Between near-death experiences and unexpected romances, fans were always kept on their toes. We even said goodbye to a few characters toward the end of the season.
Although it was pretty memorable, we definitely need a recap before season 15 returns. The new season is expected to start back up right where it left off, so it's important we don't forget any of the big moments. And trust us, there were a lot!

1. Maggie And Jackson Have A Spark
It's been a while coming, but season 14 finally showed us that Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) and Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) definitely have chemistry. After Jackson broke up with his girlfriend, he went back to inform Maggie while they shared a kiss. Don't forget they're technically siblings!
2. Owen Has A Foster Son
We all know how badly Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) has always wanted kids. Well, his wish finally came true when he took in Leo, a foster baby.
3. Owen And Teddy Rekindled A Flame
At the end of season 14, we see Owen take a trip to Germany to visit Teddy Altman (Kim Raver). There, he informs Teddy that he and Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) are finally done. The real drama come to light when we realize he and Amelia are definitely not over, and now Teddy is pregnant with Owen's baby.
4. Alex And Jo Are Married
Things will be much different between Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) come season 15 now that they're married. We're so happy for them!
5. April Won't Be Returning
April Kepner (Sarah Drew) had a rough season 14, especially after nearly losing her life in a car accident. The end of the season showed her marrying her ex-fiance, Matthew Taylor (Justin Bruening) and making her exit from the show.
6. Arizona Won't Be Returning Either
After a very long run on Grey's Anatomy, we finally said goodbye to Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) as well. She decides to make the big move to New York with Sofia, which fans are hoping means her and Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) will be reunited.
7. Meredith Won The Harper Avery Award
With the return of Grey's Anatomy for a fifteenth season, we can't forget that Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) is finally a Harper Avery winner, just like her mother had been.
8. Owen's Sister Returns, And Takes Riggs With Her
After being missing for years, Owen's sister, Megan Hunt (Bridget Regan) reappears. She is reunited with her former fiance, Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson), and the two move away together.
9. Ben Becomes A Firefighter
In season 14, we start to see less and less of Ben Warren (Jason Winston George) and he makes his transition to become a firefighter and even gets his own spinoff on Station 19. Meanwhile, Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) learns to be happy for him.
10. Amelia Had A Brain Tumor Removed
Amelia Shepherd's discovery of her brain tumor finally revealed why her character had been acting so irrational. A neurosurgeon with a brain tumor, how about that? After having the tumor successfully removed, her and Owen decided to get a divorce. She believed he married the tumor, not her.
11. Meredith Tries To Date
After a lot of uncertainty on whether or not Meredith would date again after Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), we see her stick her toes in the water. Meredith briefly dates Riggs before Megan returns, and she also shows an interest in Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman). This could mean she might actually start something serious in season 15.
