9 Most Hated Characters on Grey's Anatomy, Ranked
Grey's Anatomy has given us some of our favorite characters on television, but it's given us plenty of characters to hate as well. From day one of the show, it's not hard to pinpoint who you really don't like and totally dread when they're on screen. You know what I'm talking about, those characters that make you cringe so hard you want to turn away from the television? Even the wonderful Grey's Anatomy has those.
It's not just the viewers who get annoyed with the characters. In the past it has been pretty clear who Shonda Rhimes got sick of too. You know she doesn't like someone when they die abruptly and there's no mention of them again. It feels like a complete weight off our shoulders.
So between us, Rhimes, and you, there's a general consensus that the characters who made this list absolutely suck. There's a good chance we were all cheering when they were either killed off or sucked into the black hole of Grey's Anatomy. Go ahead and check out our ranking of the Grey's characters that nobody asked for. Hopefully, you can make it through this list without wanting to rip your eyeballs out.
Another annoying addition to the show from the merger with Mercy West, Reed Adamson (Nora Zehetner) never gave us a reason to like her. The very first thing she did was put all of her stuff in George O'Malley's (T.R. Knight) locker right after he died, and was totally rude about it. From there on out all she did was act like she's better than everyone around her. We weren't too upset when she was killed.
No one really liked the Mercy West doctors when they first came to the hospital, but characters like April and Jackson grew on us. Charles Percy (Robert Baker) however is someone we never warmed up to. The guy acted like he was better than everyone and even caused problems with our beloved Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl). Sure his death was tragic, but we're glad Charles isn't around anymore.
It was hard to find anything to like about Sloan Riley (Leven Rambin). All she ever did was cause havoc in Mark Sloan's (Eric Dane) life, especially when she came between Mark and Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh). Her selfish attitude and destructive tendencies made us more than happy to see her leave!
Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer) wasn't too bad at first, especially for an intern. It all started to go downhill when she hooked up with Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) and became obsessed with her. She seemed to always cause problems around the hospital and everyone was better off when she finally left.
Callie Torres's (Sara Ramirez) mother, Lucia Torres (Gina Gallego) was a difficult one to like. She was constantly expressing her disapproval of Callie's decision to marry Arizona, and wouldn't even attend their wedding. Lucia was nothing short of cold and heartless.
Robert Stark (Peter MacNicol) might have easily been the worst doctor in the history of Grey's. When Arizona left for Africa, she was replaced by this guy who was absolutely useless-- a burden if anything. It also made us extremely uncomfortable when he started crushing on April. That was just so creepy.
We've all tried so hard to like April Kepner (Sarah Drew), especially because Shonda Rhimes kept us stuck with her for so long. April was always whining and just plain irritating, not to mention she killed a patient due to a careless mistake. We could also never understand why she would leave someone like Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) to go overseas, she could never do better than him in a million years!
Rebecca Pope "Ava"
At first we felt bad for Rebecca Pope (Elizabeth Reaser), she was involved in a horrible ferry accident while she was pregnant and completely screwed up her face. Things would have been fine until she started toying with Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and forced him to take care of her when she went crazy. We did feel kind of bad for her, but the way she was hurting Alex was not cool.
It's hard to pinpoint why we hated Sydney Heron (Kali Rocha) so much. Grey's is full of sadness and heartbreak, it seemed way too unnatural that she was always smiling. Why were you always so happy Sydney? What's the catch? Oh and let's not forget that she caused a patient to die because she sent him home when she shouldn't have.
