You're definitely lying if you say this one didn't cut deeper than the rest. The death of Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) AKA McDreamy broke our hearts just as much as it did Meredith's. Watching Derek lie unresponsive in that hospital bed was the hardest thing Grey's Anatomy has ever put us through.

After all of the chaos that finally led to Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Preston Burke's (Isaiah Washington) wedding, it's a shame it wasn't cut short. Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) could really get on her nerves, but we loved her spunky personality and adorable smile. Not to mention, poor Meredith lost her baby sister.

Derek Getting Shot

The Ferry Crash

Grey's Anatomy via ABC

Amidst the ferry crash in which the Grey's doctors are called to the scene, Meredith ends up in the freezing cold water herself. Derek pulls her limp body out of the water in fear that she won't make it. Watching Meredith fight for her life with Derek by her side was heart breaking.
