How To Save A Life - Season 11 Episode 21
In one of the most heartbreaking episodes in Grey's Anatomy history, we finally say goodbye to Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey). He is involved in a car accident and taken to a hospital where the doctors don't have the proper training to treat him for his head injuries. We have to watch as Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) makes the decision to remove him from life support.
If/Then - Season 8 Episode 13
In this episode, we catch a glimpse into an alternate reality. In this life, Meredith's mom never got Alzheimer's and just about everything seems backwards. Meredith and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) are together, and Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Meredith definitely are not best friends.
Stand Up - Season 10 Episode 12
It seems that April Kepner (Sarah Drew) is finally marrying the man of her dreams until Jackson interrupts. During April and Matthew Taylor's (Justin Bruening) wedding, we watch as Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) jumps up and professes his love for April while his current girlfriend, Stephanie Edwards (Jerikka Hinton) sits next to him. What a plot twist!
As We Know It - Season 2 Episode 17
In this episode, Meredith is tasked with surgically removing a bomb from a patient's abdomen. The entire time we are on the edge of our seat waiting to see if the bomb will detonate and kill Meredith. Even though we know she's a great surgeon, she's no explosives expert! Luckily, Meredith and her patient make it out alive, but not everyone is this lucky.
Who's Zoomin Who - Season 1 Episode 9
Meredith's entire world comes crashing down on her in this episode. Things finally seem to be looking up with her new lover, McDreamy when his wife, Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) shows up. Meredith knew he wasn't the perfect guy, but this just put him back to square one.
Losing My Religion - Season 2 Episode 27
The love between Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is one of the greatest in the history of Grey's. In fact, Izzie loves Denny so much that she goes crazy and cuts his LVAD wire hoping it would move him to the top of the transplant list. Instead, Denny dies and Izzie is absolutely devastated.
Didn't We Almost Have It All - Season 3 Episode 25
In this episode, Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington) leaves Cristina at the altar. Cristina finally makes herself vulnerable only to be let down yet again. It's heartbreaking to see Cristina hurt like this, but it's a good thing she has Meredith by her side.
Unaccompanied Minor - Season 7 Episode 22
A lot goes down in this episode. First of all, Meredith and Derek finally get custody of Zola, officially making them parents! All is well until Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) spreads the truth of Meredith's tampering with Derek's clinical trial. On top of that, Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) tells Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) that they are done once and for all.
Perfect Storm - Season 9 Episode 24
In this episode, a major electrical storm in Seattle sends a wave of traumas to the hospital. Meanwhile, the power goes out and Meredith needs an emergency C-section. Against all odds, the baby is delivered successfully but Meredith must be operated on due to internal bleeding.
Flight - Season 8 Episode 24
In this infamous episode of Grey's Anatomy six of the doctors aboard a plane that later crashes. We watch Mark lose Lexie, and then later he ends up dying as well. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) must have her leg amputated in order to stay alive, and Derek, Meredith, and Cristina barely make it out alive. This one definitely shook us up.
