And if you're a woman, it's especially important to know which U.S. cities are best for women's reproductive rights and health overall.

The National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH) has just released it's official report evaluating the 40 most populous U.S. cities on their policies concerning women's health and reproductive rights.

The NIRH used several factors in its evaluation, including access to abortion clinic, healthcare coverage for the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, and funding for family planning and other reproductive healthcare.

Unsurprisingly, San Francisco has been ranked as the number one city for championing its residents' reproductive rights.
