Breaking up is hard to do . . . but what If I told you it didn’t have to be.
If you’re going through a breakup with a boyfriend and can’t seem to move on, follow these five tips. You’ll be over him in no time!
Step 1: Ugly Cry.
Depending on how long the relationship lasted, you’re allowed a few days to a few weeks to wallow. Eat that Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream. Watch He’s Just Not That Into You 17 times in a row. Cry yourself to sleep with a bottle of wine. The post-breakup world is your oyster.
Step 2: Unfriend, Unfollow, Delete.
Out of sight, out of mind. The healthiest thing to do after a breakup is to remove all traces of your ex from social media and technology. That way you won’t be tempted to stalk his profile or drunk dial him in the middle of the night.
Step 3: Masturbate.
Okay, so you don’t actually have to masturbate. But you should be spending some quality time with yourself. Get some R&R and take your newly single status as an opportunity to take care of yourself. Throw on a face mask, get a manicure, and go for a run. Your ex might not love you anymore, and your self-esteem might take a huge hit. You need to fall back in love with yourself.
Step 4: Three Letters . . . GNO.
Embrace your newfound freedom and have a Girls Night Out with friends. Getting dressed up and going to a party or a bar can be a great way to boost your confidence and start having a life outside of your ex.
Step 5: Start Dating Again.
The only way you’re truly going to be able to let go of your ex is to move on. By dating new people, you’re opening yourself up to the possibility of a new romance or even a new relationship. Soon enough, you won’t even remember What’s-His-Face.
