29 Tweets That Prove Why We Need #ADayWithoutAWoman

The women strike back.
In the same spirit of protest during the Women's March on Washington, feminists are joining together in making March 8th A Day Without A Woman.
In honor of International Women's Day, the protest strives to bring equality, justice, and human rights to women and all gender-oppressed people.
The event seeks to shine a light on the gender wage gap, workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity that women of all backgrounds often face. Anyone can participate in the day's protest by women taking the day off of work, avoiding shopping unless at small, women and minority owned businesses, and wearing red in solidarity.
Critics often argue that the need for a women's protest in America in unnecessary — that we live in a post-sexist society and that females have it "good enough".
We beg to differ.
