Disney's Mary Poppins tells the story of a magical nanny who travels to London to help two children grow closer with their father through music and adventure. The 1964 film is considered one of Walt Disney's greatest achievements thanks to the talent of Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke as well as memorable songs from the Sherman Brothers including A Spoonful of Sugar, Chim Chim Cheree, Feed the Birds, Step in Time, Jolly Holiday, and Super-cali-fragil-istic-expi-ali-docious! Mary Poppins earned a total of thirteen Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Writing. The film earned five wins that year including Julie Andrews for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Richard and Robert Sherman took home both the Oscars for Best Original Song and Substantially Original Score.
