"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man..."
"The Twilight Zone" was a show way ahead of its time created and hosted by Rod Serling who is considered one of the most influential writers or the science-fiction genre. TZ first aired in 1959 on CBS and even though the show only ran for five seasons, it unlocked a world of imagination that continues to influence filmmakers and writers to this day. Along with memorable stories and iconic episodes, the show showcased a wide variety of stars including Burgess Meredith, William Shatner, Robert Redford, Ida Lupino, Robert Duvall, Burt Reynolds, George Takei, Agnes Moorehead, Vera Miles, Carole Burnett, Art Carney, Buster Keaton, Jack Klugman, Jonathan Winters, Sebastian Cabot, Ed Wynn and many more. Some of the most iconic TZ episodes are "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet," "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street," "Time Enough At Last," "The Obsolete Man," "It's A Good Life," "The Dummy," and "The Night of the Meek." Serling took home the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Drama in 1960, Outstanding Writing Achievement in Drama the following year and won for Best TV Producer/Director in 1963. The show itself has been rebooted twice but each attempt has never even come close to capturing the creativity and awe of Serling's original series.
