"I Love Lucy" is one of the most iconic sitcoms in television history starring Lucille Ball with her real-life husband, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance and William Frawley and was the most watched show in the United States for four of its six seasons. The show follows the schemes and antics of housewife, Lucy Ricardo who is almost always attempting to mingle or experience the life of show business by recruiting some help from her best friend and neighbor, Ethel. Along with Lucille Ball's trailblazing comedy came memorable guest stars including John Wayne, William Holden, George Reeves, Rock Hudson, Orson Welles, Bob Hope, Charles Boyer, Tallulah Bankhead, Barbara Eden, Jack Benny, Carol Burnett, Joan Crawford, Dean Martin, Robert Stack and George Burns. "I Love Lucy" earned a total of 25 award nominations over it's six year run and won 8 Primetime Emmys notably Best Situation Comedy in 1953 and 1954 along with Vivian Vance for Best Series Supporting Actress. Despite her numerous nominations, Lucille Ball did not win until 1956 for Best Actress in a Continuing Performance.
