Supernatural Season 13 Spoilers: Is Castiel Dead?
Supernatural is coming back for season 13 on Thursday, October 12, but to be honest, we're still reeling over the season 12 finale. Since we really can't wait for the Supernatural season 13 premiere to find out if any of our favorite characters are coming back, we have to ask: Is Castiel dead?
Supernatural Season 13 | Is Castiel Really Dead?
Although the official episode description for the season 13 premiere, "Lost and Found," mentions Castiel's death we aren't totally convinced that will stick. He is, after all, an angel.
"Season 13 begins with Sam and Dean picking up the pieces after the loss of their mother, the demise of Crowley and the heartbreaking death of Castiel. Meanwhile, the birth of Jack leaves the brothers with differing opinions on how to deal with a Nephilim; and Mary, after being dragged into the breach, must learn to survive Lucifer and an apocalyptic world."
Castiel himself — er, Misha Collins — confirmed that Castiel's journey has not ended, tweeting that he "has a future," although Collins didn't give any details on what exactly that future entails.
2 things, 1) Cass [or Cas] has a future... & 2)if you want to have the most fun possible this summer (while doing good), try this: https://t.co/ci9QUOOTYz— Misha Collins (@mishacollins) May 20, 2017
If you need further proof that Castiel will return, Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam Winchester, gave us that. During a convention in Rome this past May, as Padalecki was talking about the Scooby Doo crossover episode, slated for episode 16 of season 13, he accidentally let it slip that Castiel returns.
So, somehow, Castiel is alive, and we are deeply relieved!
Supernatural season 13 premieres Thursday, October 12, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
