Good news ladies everywhere: the more you eat, the smarter you get.

It's simple: your brain needs food to function. Food is FUEL. I forget this sometimes when I'm on my fourth sleeve of Oreos-- it doesn't exactly seem like nutrition to me. Well, that's because it's not.

But, surprisingly, there are some actual healthy foods that can increase your stamina and intelligence. If food's all I need to get smarter, then great-- sign me up.

Here is some grub that will actually make your brain grow.



The monounsaturated fats in avocados help your blood circulate more effectively. Additionally, avocados are high in antioxidants , and contain Vitamin K and folate, which are both great for memory and concentration. (Personally, I'd like to concentrate on finishing this entire bowl of guacamole.)

Put avocados in a smoothie, sneak them into a dessert or munch down on some avocado toast for breakfast. As if we had to convince you to eat an avocado anyway.



Blueberries are high in fiber AND have a very low glycemic index-- meaning they are not a hugely sugary fruit. They are even maybe the best food for your brain ON EARTH because they're actually known to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's and are good at reducing stress.

It would probably be good for me to pop a few blueberries right now, to be honest.



Due to Omega Fatty 3 Acids, salmon helps cognition and alertness, and will help reduce that pesky brain fog. Salmon also improves your memory and mood, and can help decrease depression and anxiety. It's like the ocean's prozac!


nuts and seeds

Nuts are great for a quick, hight protein boost that won't spike or cause you to crash later. Additionally, they are high in healthy fats and Vitamin E, which are both great for brain function. Walnuts are high in antioxidants, and seeds can be high in magnesium.

Go have a handful and enjoy! They're the perfect work snack.


coconut oil

Coconut oil is not only an anti inflammatory, but also helps with memory loss, and can help knock out any bad bacteria that hangs out inside your stomach. Not to mention you can use it as a moisturizer, and to help condition your hair. There are practically a million uses for coconut oil. I mean, have you heard of oil-pulling? Kylie Jenner does it...


apple cider vinegar
