Little Mix's latest hit, "Shoutout To My Ex," is Perrie's final goodbye to Zayn.

After a very public breakup last year, Perrie Edwards and Little Mix have released a tune that we're guessing is one final "goodbye" to her ex-fiance, Zayn Malik.

Last year, Perrie was happily engaged to Zayn. She was ruling the world with Little Mix and he had just announced his departure from boyband One Direction when suddenly, everything went dark. According to several interviews, Zayn had simply "fallen out of love" with Perrie and was ready for a new step in his life. Other claims state that Zayn thought Perrie was selfish in their relationship and didn't care about what was in Zayn's best interest. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

No matter what the truth is, the split was heartbreaking. 💔 Directioners and Mixers alike mourned the relationship for months to come. Perrie openly relied on her bandmates for support throughout their Black Magic tour, even breaking down in tears a few times during appearances. Zayn handled the breakup a little differently -- he released a solo album and started dating supermodel Gigi Hadid.

Since the new couple blossomed, Perrie has been rather quiet about the whole thing -- until now. The band decided to release their new song on their home stomping grounds, The X Factor. The track titled "Shoutout To My Ex" features lyrics like "this is a shout out to my ex / heard he in love with some other chick / yeah yeah that hurt me, I'll admit" which immediately led listeners to assuming Perrie penned this for Zayn specifically.

With the release of the song, several sources have asked Perrie where the inspiration came from. According to Fizzxo.com, Perrie has recently opened up about the split in Little Mix's new book, Our World. In the book due October 20, Perrie describes last year as "horrible, the worst time in my life." She continues by explaining her pain was from, "a four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that. Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me."

While her story still conflicts with Zayn's, we're happy that she's finally finding closure and opening up about the ordeal. Unfortunately, it's hard to hate Zigi (Zayn and Gigi) because they are literally so cute it hurts. (I mean, Zayn's cute but Perrie AND Gigi? Damn, boy.)

Here at Women.com, we're just hoping that a lucky person comes along to make Perrie forget her heart was ever broken. Until then, we'll be rooting her on because tbh she's totally badass all on her own.
