Because it's always 5'oclock somewhere.

When it comes to growing up, we all want to make our mark on something. We want people to know us for the way we do things, the things we like, etc. As we get older, it becomes more important to find something we can put our own personal flair on, doesn't it?

Today, we are going to show you FIVE perfect cocktails that you'll only find in the south. Our challenge to you: find a way to make these drinks your own, and then throw a party!

1. Brandy Milk Punch

Our friends over at The Bitter Southerner compiled up this spectacular recipe from David Wondrich's "Imbibe!"

Ingredients: 2 tsp superfine white sugar 2 tsp water 1 oz Santa Cruz rum (see note) 2 oz cognac Half tumbler full of shaved ice (see note)

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add approximately 1½ oz of milk and shake well. Grate a bit of nutmeg on top.

Note: Since Santa Cruz rum from the 1800s is unlike most things on the market today, try a Navy proof, barrel aged rum instead. Crushed ice will do if shaved ice is not readily available. 😉

2. A Smokin' Good Bloody

Atlanta bartender Nate Shuman shared this recipe with Garden & Gun -- feast your eyes (and tastebuds) on these wondrous beverages.

Ingredients: 1 quart tomato puree (Shuman uses San Marzano) 1 cup dill pickle juice 1 cup caper juice 3 tbsp. prepared horseradish 1.5 oz. quality soy sauce (Shuman uses Den Chan Shoyu) 2 oz. Tabasco pepper sauce 2 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 1 tsp. freshly ground white pepper 1.5 oz. Worcestershire sauce 30 dashes Angostura bitters

Pour 2 oz. of your favorite vodka into a glass full of ice. Fill remainder with Bloody Mary mix. Add 3 dashes barbecue bitters. Mix. Dip the rim of another glass in lime juice, then into a blend of equal parts salt, celery seed, and Old Bay. Pour the mixed drink into the rimmed glass and garnish. 💃

3. Scarlet O'Hara

Not to be confused with the lovely Scarlet from Gone With The Wind, this drink is timeless.

Ingredients: 2 oz. Southern Comfort 1 dash of lime juice 6 oz. of cranberry juice 1 lime wedge for garnishing

Combine all ingredients and serve over ice. 🍹

4. Cajun Lemonade

Add a little spice into your life with this tangy taste c/o Food&Wine!

Ingredients: 12 oz. white rum or vodka 4 oz. Pimm's No. 1 8 oz. fresh lemon juice 4 oz. Simple Syrup 1/2 tablespoon Tabasco Ice 8 oz. chilled 7-Up Thin lemon wheels for garnishing

In a large resealable container, combine all of the ingredients except ice, the 7-Up and the lemon wheels. Refrigerate until chilled, at least 1 hour. Cover tightly and shake, then pour into an ice-filled pitcher. Strain into ice-filled rocks glasses, stir in the 7-Up and garnish with lemon wheels. 🍋

5. Apple Pie Bourbon Sweet Tea

For those of you with a bit of a sweet tooth, here's your weekend dessert!

Ingredients: 3/4 cup of sweet tea 3 tablespoons of Apple Pie-infused bourbon 1 tablespoon of lemon juice Ice Club Soda Apple slice + cinnamon stick for garnishing
